Is Blake Lively wearing all black because she’s mourning her floral era?

We all bow our heads in memory of Blake Lively’s floral era, which apparently is no longer with us. The actor was seen in New York City with her husband Ryan Reynolds, dressed in all black, perhaps in mourning for the non-stop flowers she wore to promote. It ends with usin which she played a florist named Lily Bloom.

In the pictures taken on September 17 (published by Page Six), Lively wears a black T-shirt tucked into black denim cargo pants with chunky black boots — a surprisingly punk-ish look for her. She accessorized the look with a black and white Chanel crossbody bag and a colorful charm necklace. Reynolds, meanwhile, paired his black shirt with green pants and brown shoes, so maybe he’s just in the middle of mourning.

In August, Blake Lively wears flowers to promote her movie.

For months Blake Lively has worn nothing but floral dresses, usually in colorful, girly shades of pink or baby blue. And even when she’s at her most casual, Lively’s street style tends toward the softer, more feminine side of women’s fashion. But as we can clearly see in these last photos, he is also able to branch out into emo slightly. That said, don’t expect to see Lively rocking anything other than her long, wavy mermaid hair anytime soon. He may be done with Lily Bloom, but he still has a hair care line to promote, after all.
