It was reported that the man rode down the High Street while making an offensive gesture.

In a post on TVP Cherwell, he said: “While we appreciate that the use of E-scooters divides public opinion, the majority of complaints we receive relate to illegal and anti-social riding of them in public.

“Some areas have schemes in place that allow the riding of E-scooters when hired, but in Banbury there is no such scheme and so any riding is illegal and is a priority for the neighborhood team.”

The post added: “Unfortunately, the 23-year-old man who thought he could shout abuse at one of our officers and ride down the High Street giving ‘the bird’ found out the hard way we take action.

“Another E-Scooter impounded and the rider reported for driving without a license and without insurance.”
